These works arise during observation and manipulation of an incomplete, rapid photochemical reaction that is transformed, prolonged and directed through artistic interventions. In other words, the artist extracts unique pictures out of a large range of possible shapes or colours that occure in the photochemical reaction. By capturing several stages of the ongoing transformation process, different versions of the fading image are preserved in single prints or series. Like a snapshot, the active photochemical reaction is then condensed in a lasting photograph. Transformation and the notion of time become visible in a sequence of pictures.
